We are creating a plan for our recounts. We are thinking about the key parts of our trip and we are making notes to help us with our writing tomorrow.
LKS2 presentations – Yorkshire and the Humber
A huge well done to all three classes who proudly presented their fieldwork trips. We helped each other to understand the differences between urban, rural and coastal areas.
Netball- Applying skills into mini games
LO: To apply passing, making space and scoring skills to mini games.
Identifying and comparing human and physical features
We labelled where some known places are on a map. We colour coded these features to show if they are human or physical. Then we compared the human and physical features of Barnsley and Whitby.
Non- fiction texts
We are enjoying our non-fiction text 'Rocks and soils' in reading. We are learning more about our focussed science topic 'Rocks and fossils'.
Sikhism – Guru Granth Sahib
We looked at two stories from the Guru Granth Sahib in RE. We discussed the similarities and differences between the two stories and then shared what we thought the key messages were.
Polygons
We have identified polygons and non-polygons in small groups. We then moved on to identifying whether a polygon is regular or irregular.
Everyone is Welcome!
We were visited by one of our well-being ambassadors today. He shared a story with the class and then we discussed the importance of being kind and making everyone feel welcome.
Why are these words special?
We focused on Hinduism this week. We looked at the story of Hanuman. We sequenced key events from this story and then thought about what important messages this story gives to Hindus.

Food Chains
In science we have been learning about food chains. We explored how the energy passes for each plant or animal to the next. We know that plants and animals in food chains are either producers or consumers. We also know that they can be predators, prey or even both....
Peer assessing

Gustav Klimt
We experimented with oil pastels in preparation for creating our final pieces. We explored the feel of the pastel, the shades of each colour and whether the colours could be blended or not.
Handball
L.O. To learn how to defend (marking) when not in possession.
Mindfulness
L.O. To learn various meditative balances and understand the benefit of executing the balances correctly in order to improve our posture, body awareness, focus and concentration.
Using water colours
We experimented using water colours to achieve the perfect shade for different parts of Monet's painting. We know we can add more water to create a lighter colour.
Football – Keeping possession of the ball
LO: To develop passing, moving and dribbling, building up to mini games where pupils must keep possession in order to win.
