We used dienes to explore how to partition two-digit numbers into tens and ones.

We have learnt all about how to take proper care of our teeth. We created posters to share our knowledge.

We explored jobs both in the past and the present. We looked at the glass industry and the mining industry and how these roles have evolved over time. We also spoke about teaching and jobs in IT.

Autumn walk…
We went on an autumn walk around the school grounds. We collected lots of autumn objects. We will use these as inspiration for our poetry writing.
Autumn word banks
We worked in groups to create class word banks for our autumn poems. We gathered exciting adjectives we could use to help us describe a range of autumn objects.
Non-standard units of measure
We used Unifix cubes to measure objects in the classroom. We used our knowledge of groups of 10 to help us count effectively.

We created some beautiful Autumn acrostic poems. We used our real-life experiences and our shared word bank to support our writing.
Personhood
We explored the idea of 'personhood' in P4C this week. We discussed the things that make us unique and then answered some philosophical questions using this knowledge.
Properties of materials
We discussed the properties of different materials and learnt lots of new vocabulary! We then explored objects from around the classroom and matched the properties to each object.
Eight frames
We used eight frames to create different bonds to eight. One partner placed the counters, and the other partner had to explain what the counters represent. Then we swapped!
