Animal Haiku poetry
We have chosen an animal to write a Haiku poem about. We have then gathered lots of vocabulary that could be used in these poems.
Different perspectives
We have used different sources to discuss the perspectives different groups of people had about The Celts. We had to discuss which was the most reliable source and why.
1000 more and 1000 less
We had to try and escape the maze by finding numbers which were 1000 more than the one before.
The Squirrel and the Magpie
We enjoyed another fantastic philosophy session. We warmed up by trying as a class to count to 20 - only one person was allowed to stand up and say a number at any time. If two people said the same number, we had to start again! Then we looked at the story of the...
Hook a Duck!
We played a game of hook a duck with our partners. We then had to find 1000 more and 1000 less than the number on our ducks!
Fluency in Action
We have focussed on inverted commas when reading with our partners. We know the importance of changing our voices for different characters.
Why are some times special?
We discussed the questions why are some times specials with a focus on Christianity. We looked at the time of Holy Week and why this is so important to Christians.
Syllables
We have looked at how to identify syllables in different words. This will help us to write our Haiku poems.
Animation
We have started our new unit of learning in computing - animation. We looked at how to make a ball bounce across the screen with the focus being on how smooth we could make the animation.
Chronology
We have developed our understanding of chronology by using timelines to order historical events. First we looked at historical events we had already learnt about and then we ordered events from after the Romans left Britain. [gallery type="rectangular"...
Commutativity
We have been using our understanding of the commutative law to solve a range of problems in maths.
We perform a canon in our movements.
We continued our learning on cats and looked at a cat may move when being mischievous or naughty. Then we worked with a partner to create a sequence of movements as a mischievous cat!
Co-operation
We know what makes an effective team with the focus on cooperation and responsibility.
Chronology
We discussed the features of a historical time line and ordered previously learnt events in history. Then we looked at key events in Britain after the Romans left.
Collecting ideas about Narnia
We were extremely lucky to experience how Lucy may feel in Narnia. The ideas we collected will be used to support our writing for this unit. We are writing a setting description about Narnia.
Collecting ideas
We watched a range of Christmas adverts to gather different ideas about Christmas. We know that Christmas is about many things!
Christmas crafts
We created some wonderful Christmas items for our grown ups!
If you were Charlie Bucket….
We used our knowledge of the text read so far to explain which offer we would take.
