We looked at the features of a historic timeline. We know that mining (our current unit) happened after the Roman Empire and Anglo-Saxons (our previous units).

We know animals can be grouped. We grouped: mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, birds and vertebrates/invertebrates.

We know we can use the wider text to understand the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary. We used our inference skills to predict the meaning of: yowling, pitifully and ravenously

We were collaborative creating a branching data base using yes or no questions. We know we had to identify similarities and differences between objects.
