SIDES AND VERTICES
Year 2 have continued their learning around polygons. They have focused on sorting shapes according to the number of sides and vertices.
HEALTHY LIVING
In science, year 2 have been learning about the importance of exercise and the effects exercise has on their bodies.
Year 2 have moved onto learning about shapes.
Today, they learnt about polygons and was able to sort a range of shapes into polygon and not polygon.
In computing, year 2 have been working on questioning.
They have developed knowledge and understanding of using binary trees for questioning.
introduction to overarm throwing
Today Year 2 Goodall have been introduced to overarm throwing and have applied their understanding into winning a game.
Water- creating contrasting movement sequences
Year 2 Goodall have been improvising their movements to a video stimulus of the sea. We linked our movements together with a partner and then performed them for our class.

Year 2 Goodall have been putting their understanding of polygons to the test by sorting shapes into different categories

Year 2 Goodall have designed their very own bird boxes for our school field whilst following specific design criteria. We will chose one design to build next week!

Creating sequences
Today in Dance Y2 Goodall learned how to use their whole body to create sequences of movement to portray what we might do at the seaside.
Cudworth and Bisbee
Year 2 worked in pairs to sort places in Cudworth and Bisbee by physical features and human features.
Understanding division…
Year 2 used number rods to help develop their . First, they had to work out what the problem was asking them to do, I.e. 30 divide by 2 and then use the rods and a ruler to find the answer.
