Our curriculum reflects the aims of the National Curriculum, emphasising the importance of children being able to make rich connections across mathematical ideas to
 develop fluency, mathematical reasoning and competence in solving increasingly sophisticated problems. Therefore, our curriculum progression has a range of statements which have central relevance to more than one mathematical topic. The connections are not exhaustive, and we work hard with staff to ensure that meaningful connections are made across the strands.
Our curriculum considers the understanding required across school (EYFS- Year 6) and places importance on a strong link between fluency (Mastering Number) and mathematical reasoning and problem solving (NCETM Resources).
