Winter weather <\/span>can cause serious disruption.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will endeavour to open the school every day to make sure that children and their learning come first.\u00a0 However, if the School\u2019s Leadership Team feels that the weather would put <\/span>anyone<\/span> at risk, we will take appropriate steps to minimise <\/span>this<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The steps taken may include:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Opening school as normal whilst <\/span>allowing later or <\/span>delay<\/span>ed<\/span> registration.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Closing the school when it is not safe to open.<\/span><\/div>\n

We take <\/span>a number of<\/span> factors into consideration when making any decision relating to school opening\/closure including:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Current weather conditions<\/span> & safety of our <\/span>School<\/span> site.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Use of Weather <\/span>Forecast<\/span> to evaluate<\/span> conditions up to school<\/span>\u2019s<\/span> closing times<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Availability of staff<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>Availability of key non-teaching staff (premises and catering)<\/span><\/div>\n

There are <\/span>various<\/span> ways<\/span> that<\/span> you can find out about our decision if we decide to close:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. The closure will be sent to all families by Text Message <\/span>so please <\/span>en<\/span>sure <\/span>that <\/span>we have your <\/span>current<\/span> number, (sometimes when the service is busy it can take a while for the messages to\u00a0be delivered to <\/span>your phone<\/span>.<\/span>)<\/span><\/div>\n
2. The closure will be announced on our website<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
3. The closure will be announced on our X (formerly Twitter) Page<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
4. The closure will be emailed to all families (as with the Newsletter each week<\/span>.<\/span>)<\/span><\/div>\n
5. The closure will be announced on the Barnsley Council School Closure Website<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span>We would <\/span>politely <\/span>ask all families to share any closure with friends etc. should one occur.<\/span><\/p>\n

If it does snow <\/span>and<\/span> we feel that it is still safe to open<\/span> school<\/span>, please send your child(ren) in suitable clothing<\/span> (and with a change of clothing)<\/span> so that they can make the most of the weather and go outside <\/span>and<\/span> play during the day.<\/span><\/p>\n
