 Remembrance

 Remembrance

We were represented by several of our wonderful children at St. John’s Parish Church, Cudworth on Remembrance Sunday. We laid our cross of poppies, along with many members of our local community, on the War Memorial. Lest we forget.

Lest We Forget…

Lest We Forget…

The Year 3/4 Owls have been working exceptionally hard to create the artwork for our Special Remembrance Assembly board. We have sewn poppies and created poppy wreaths using wax crayons. We signified ‘unity’ using our hands for the leaves of the wreath.

We also read the story ‘Peace Lily’ by our friend Hilary Robinson and used this to think of questions in our philosophy lesson. Miss Spellman was really impressed with some of our deeper thinking questions.

Our gifts for our sponsored friend in Uganda will be on their way over the next few weeks. We can’t wait to hear about how Tom and Barbara’s mission went when they return.

A Visit to our Parish Church St. John’s

Year 6 visited Father David at St. John’s Church. Inside, the children learned a lot about the importance of Harvest festival, how it started and how it has changed in the local community over the years. We found out that money raised now goes to Water Aid, and we discussed the need for this water in other parts of the world. Outside, we looked at the War Memorial and at the Commonwealth War Graves to aid us with our Remembrance Project.

Thank you Father David for your hospitality
