The flowers in the playground have been loving the fantastic sunny weather we’ve had this week.

To keep our school grounds in tip top condition, children from Yr 5  and Yr 3/4  Ladybirds have been working hard at  lunchtimes to remove the weeds and dead flower heads. Great work everybody!

What a Discovery!

On Sunday night this superstar found 5 House Martin chicks on the floor of her shed. House Martin nests are made from mud and the nest had dried up and fallen. With her Mum, she took an old bucket and placed the remains of the nest inside. They then hung the bucket from the shed roof. It’s been 2 days now and the parents are still feeding them and they have now opened their eyes.

This wonderful family has most definitely saved the chicks lives. A super story, well done!

The Gruffalo’s Child

Our Year 2/3 Butterflies, Bees and Ladybirds went to see the Gruffalo’s Child in Doncaster. It was VERY exciting –  One wild and windy night the Gruffalo s child ignores her father’s warning and tiptoes out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist… does he? Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s award winning sequel was brought to life in this magical, musical adaptation. Songs, laughs and scary fun for children were received with great enthusiasm as our work on Julia Donaldson came to an end. A wonderful day, thanks to all of our staff, helpers & Governors for arranging the visit.
