Headteacher’s Superstar Award

Our Headteacher’s Superstar Award Winner comes from Year 6.

He has been producing work to the very best of his ability in all areas of school, both in and out of the classroom – including the dance floor!

He has proved a very popular winner and deserves great credit for the huge improvements he is making to the quality of everything he does at Birkwood.

Delicious Fayre on Offer!

As always, our Kitchen Staff prepared a delicious Christmas Meal in school. All children had a cracker, party hat and even a poor joke and the adults acted as waiting staff! The hall looked lovely thanks to our Support Staff. Many thanks to Marie and her team for making Christmas Dinner such a delicious event!

Goodbye Mrs. Robinson

We say goodbye to Mrs. Robinson at Birkwood after over 7 years service! She will be missed by all of us after providing many unforgettable experiences.

Her work in her Leadership Role as Inclusion Leader and her contribution as our drama champion will never be forgotten.

Thank you Mrs. Robinson and Good Luck! We’ll miss you! Enjoy some memories of Mrs. Robinson’s work at Birkwood here!

Congratulations Mrs Lovett!

The Children in Need Raffle raised over £130 towards our magnificent total. The lucky winner of the prize, kindly donated by the Beckett Family was Mrs Lovett! She was delighted with her prize as she had admired the picture since the raffle was announced! Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket!

Children in Need

Children in Need got off to a flying start with some very ‘Special Visitors’ to Birkwood. Can you name all of them?

Please Support Birkwood’s Poppy Appeal

On Friday 4th November and next week also, Years 5 and 6 will be selling a range of products to raise money for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2011. At Birkwood, we always support this fabulous Annual Event and this year is no different – APART from the fact that as well as the usual Poppies, we are selling Headbands, Cakes, Key Rings, Badges and MUCH more, all made by our own children. Years 5 and 6 are studying World War 2 and our Remembrance Shop has helped our creative, team work and technology skills as well as, of course reminding us of the sacrifices that so many heroes have made!

We are certain everyone around Birkwood will help!

And the Winner IS…..

Six lucky children won t-shirts during Special Assembly as their reward for walking to school! Our Road Safety Awareness Week ended with PCSO Cooley presenting them with their prizes! Well done to them all.

Conkers 2011

This year’s conker tournament will commence next week, (3rd October).

Please register with Mr Wood. Children may either bring a conker or choose one from Mr Wood’s collection!

The competition is open for children from Years 1-6.
